Stearic acid coated · PVC extrusion grade

Activated Calcium Carbonate

Coated calcium carbonate, surface treated with stearic acid, for high-load filling in rigid PVC. The coating keeps it hydrophobic, so it disperses cleanly and does not choke the machine.

Typical values

Particle size (D50)2.0 – 2.5 microns
Surface treatment1.0% – 1.2% stearic acid coating
Whiteness / brightness95% minimum
CaCO₃ content98.5% minimum
Moisture content0.15% maximum
Oil absorption16 – 18 ml / 100 g

These are typical values from regular production, not a contractual specification. A Certificate of Analysis can be arranged on request — tell us at the enquiry stage. If you need a tighter window on any parameter, ask us before ordering and we will confirm what is achievable.

Supply & packing

Minimum order1 tonne (20 bags × 50 kg)
Packing50 kg HDPE woven sacks, inner LDPE liner

Pricing is quoted against your monthly contracted tonnage and delivery location. Send us the grade and quantity and we will come back with a landed price.

Applications

Where it is used

PVC pipes & fittings

Takes maximum filler loading without losing tensile strength or spiking extruder torque.

uPVC profiles & conduits

Improves surface finish, gloss and impact resistance on extruded profiles.

Masterbatch compounding

A functional extender with dispersion good enough to run at high let-down ratios.

Cables & wire sheathing

Holds insulation properties and structural integrity in PVC sheathing.

On your floor

What it changes

  • Cuts raw material cost per tonne by displacing virgin resin
  • Reduces extruder screw and barrel wear
  • Increases line output speed
  • Hydrophobic coating prevents moisture pickup and machine choking

Choosing between the two

Activated or ground?

Both are calcium carbonate. The difference is the stearic acid coating, and it decides more than the price per tonne.

Activated — coated

Reach for it whenThe compound goes through an extruder as rigid PVC and you are pushing filler loading up.
What the coating doesStearic acid makes the particle hydrophobic, so it disperses instead of agglomerating and does not carry moisture into the melt.
TypicallyPipe and fittings, uPVC profile, cable sheathing.
The trade-offCosts more per tonne than uncoated.

Ground — uncoated

Reach for it whenYou are filling for bulk and cost per tonne, and the formulation does not need the surface treated.
What does the workNothing sits between the calcite and the polymer — whiteness and particle size carry it.
TypicallyFiller masterbatch, paints and putties, EVA footwear, moulded rubber.
The trade-offPicks up moisture in storage and disperses less readily at high loading.

Rule of thumb: through an extruder as rigid PVC, start with activated. In for bulk and whiteness, start with ground. If you are between the two, send the formulation and the line speed and we will tell you which one we would run — see Ground Calcium Carbonate.

Send us the grade and the tonnage. We will send the sample.

Free samples reach most plants in Telangana & Andhra Pradesh within 72 hours. For activated calcium carbonate we send a free 25 kg commercial trial batch — enough to run on the machine, not just look at.
