Uncoated · ultra-white masterbatch grade
Ground Calcium Carbonate
Uncoated calcium carbonate, natural calcite ground to 5–10 micron at 96.5% whiteness. Bulk extender for filler masterbatch, paints, putties and EVA footwear, where cost per tonne and colour consistency decide the order.
Typical values
| Particle size (D50) | 5.0 – 10.0 microns available |
|---|---|
| Whiteness / brightness | 96.5% minimum |
| CaCO₃ content | 99.0% pure calcite |
| Moisture content | 0.10% maximum |
| Refractive index | 1.59 |
| Specific gravity | 2.7 |
These are typical values from regular production, not a contractual specification. A Certificate of Analysis can be arranged on request — tell us at the enquiry stage. If you need a tighter window on any parameter, ask us before ordering and we will confirm what is achievable.

Applications
Where it is used
Colour & filler masterbatch
Foundational filler on compounding lines, for whiteness and structural bulk.
Paints, primers & wall putty
Effective pigment extender in emulsion paints and architectural putties.
EVA footwear & rubber
Adds tear resistance and stiffness in EVA sheet, chappal soles and moulded rubber.
Thermoset plastics
Suited to sheet moulding (SMC) and bulk moulding (BMC) compounds.

What it changes
- High natural whiteness cuts the titanium dioxide you need to buy
- Low oil absorption keeps formulation cost down
- 99% purity means no interference with polymers or stabilisers under heat
- Multiple micron grades from one supplier

Choosing between the two
Activated or ground?
Both are calcium carbonate. The difference is the stearic acid coating, and it decides more than the price per tonne.
Activated — coated
| Reach for it when | The compound goes through an extruder as rigid PVC and you are pushing filler loading up. |
|---|---|
| What the coating does | Stearic acid makes the particle hydrophobic, so it disperses instead of agglomerating and does not carry moisture into the melt. |
| Typically | Pipe and fittings, uPVC profile, cable sheathing. |
| The trade-off | Costs more per tonne than uncoated. |
Ground — uncoated
| Reach for it when | You are filling for bulk and cost per tonne, and the formulation does not need the surface treated. |
|---|---|
| What does the work | Nothing sits between the calcite and the polymer — whiteness and particle size carry it. |
| Typically | Filler masterbatch, paints and putties, EVA footwear, moulded rubber. |
| The trade-off | Picks up moisture in storage and disperses less readily at high loading. |
Rule of thumb: through an extruder as rigid PVC, start with activated. In for bulk and whiteness, start with ground. If you are between the two, send the formulation and the line speed and we will tell you which one we would run — see Activated Calcium Carbonate.
Send us the grade and the tonnage. We will send the sample.
Free samples reach most plants in Telangana & Andhra Pradesh within 72 hours. For activated calcium carbonate we send a free 25 kg commercial trial batch — enough to run on the machine, not just look at.
